Is it safe to use <strong>coconut oil for dogs and cats<\/strong>, or not? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrary to human medicine experts, the veterinary community still lacks scientific evidence to reach trustful conclusions. The best approach is to get as much information from reliable sources as possible, and elaborate an opinion based on it. Following the herd is not always the best idea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is coconut oil?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/maven.pet\/all-about-pets\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/coconut_oil_dogs_cats_what.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-311\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Coconut oil is all about fat. Around 90% is saturated fat, also known as \u201cgood fat\u201d, comprising a high amount of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs). That is why the pet\u2019s fur may look glossy and sleek.<\/li><li>&#8230;help skin conditions like hot spots, bites, stings, itchiness or dry skin. Lauric acid, the main fatty acid in coconut oil, has a unique chemical makeup that allows it to easily penetrate hair shafts.<\/li><li>&#8230;boost the immune system.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So until now, everything indicates that coconut oil can actually do wonders and might be a strong ally in achieving a healthy lifestyle.
