If you have to go out to work, most cats will be OK with being left home alone for up to 12 hours. They will soon get into a consistent routine<\/a>, and will expect their dinner the second you walk back through the door!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what about if you\u2019re going on vacation? If your cat is staying at home, a friendly neighbor or pet sitter should pop in at least twice a day to replenish food and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
